  • En-Core Barre

    En-Core Barre

The original Barré method is based on the technique of Lotte Berk, a German dancer who fled Nazi Germany in the 1930s to settle in London. After injuring her back, Lotte got the idea of combining her ballet Barré routines with rehabilitative therapy and combining these as a form of fitness.

The Barré method has enjoyed a huge surge in popularity recently and former ballerina Victoria Ashford-Smit was among the first to bring it to the shores of South Africa. Using the original method as her inspiration, she then blended it with cardio and weight training to create the unique En-Core Barré Method, a weight-loss and fitness workout like no other.

  • Pilates

    Pilates

Pilates is a highly innovative but safe mind-body exercise regime that uses a floor mat or variety of specialised equipment. Through breathing to aid concentration, you’ll build core strength, tone and stretch muscles and keep your body in balance.

Pilates teaches you body awareness, improves posture, and gives you better flexibility and agility, strengthens your core which increases your overall strength. This is very helpful in preventing and recovering from injuries and builds strength without excess bulk, creating a sleek, toned physique. Best of all, it’s a calming form of exercise that benefits both your mind and your body

You can do Pilates exercises at any age or in any physical condition. Overall, Pilates classes allow you to dramatically transform the way you look and feel in just a short space of time.

  • Yoga

    Yoga

Hatha yoga classes at the En-Core studio incorporates bodily postures, breathing techniques and meditation with the goal of bringing about a sound, healthy body and a clear, peaceful mind.

Hatha yoga is a system of yoga introduced by Yogi Swatmarama. The word "Hatha" comes from the Sanskrit "ha," or sun, and "tha," meaning moon. The principle behind Hatha is uniting pairs of opposites: the positive and the negative, the sun and the moon..

Hatha yoga history can be traced back to more than 5,000 years ago. Like most of the other forms of yoga, hatha yoga origin lies in India.

The practice of Hatha Yoga restores and refreshes the human body. Stretching and toning the muscles, joints, and spine and directing blood and oxygen to the internal organs including the glands and nerves. These are just some of the physical benefits of Hatha Yoga.
